The famous Rialto Movie Theatre located at 1620 Glenwood Ave in Raleigh is coming back to life with a lineup of concerts starting this November. After 20 years, the theatre is bringing back concerts to relieve its old glory days.
Fascinating History of Rialto
In 1936, a star was born as The Colony Theatre opened in an old A&P grocery store. Soon it became The Colony movie house in the year 1942. Later in 1983, it got a dazzling makeover by transforming it into the beloved “Rialto Theatre.”
After 32 years Bill Peebles, owner of the theatre for a long time had announced his retirement in 2022. Later, a group of local investors bought the theatre and are planning to reopen the theatre this summer.
The Newest Theatre Update
Hayes Permar is a local investor and the theatre’s general manager who oversees the operations. The talent agency which is headquartered in Raleigh, takes charge of handling music venue bookings.
As for concert tickets, they are expected to become available in the coming weeks at “TheRialto.com” Prices may typically range from $30 to $50, stay tuned for updates.
